I have a 2001 Chevrolet Prism. The right turn signal works when the flashers do, but when the signal itself is activated, the light stays solid. The inidcator on the dashboard also stays lit and solid even when the left signal is blinking. It has the automatic headlights that turn on automatically when it gets dark. However, the turn signal works from the rear and when it is daylight, but when it gets dark, it loses it mind. Anybody have any ideas? I was wondering if it could be a fuse or maybe a short somewhere.

I'm not totally sure, but I just had a problem with my left front turn signal also. (Different car...BMW 330xi) It ended up that the turn signal enclosure had a tiny crack from a pebble or something that was letting water in and causing a short in the circuit. Check to see if you have an condensation build-up on the inside of the turn signal lens.

Replace the front and rear lamps (bulbs) on the side not working, this is the cheapest route to start. Or if you have the time change all lamps from the right side to the left side and vice versa. If your problem moves to the working side, you have a bad lamp and you're back to square one, finding out if the front or rear lamp is bad.

you have what is called a "flasher" under the dash. Did you check to make sure all the outside light work. If you have a blinker bulb burned out that will do that as well.....good luck
