Great Pitcher. Not one of the greatest pitchers b.c he has only been in the majorleauges 2 years? And so u cant tell yet. But he still has a long way to go. He could be 1 of the greatest pitchers though. Maybe

I LOVE Jonathan Papelbon and he has undoubtedly contributed to the Red Sox 2007 World Series Championship. He's a phenominal pitcher, but not YET the greatest ever. I would say he's one of the greastest closers, though. I can't wait to see how he does in this upcoming season=) He's so enjoyable to watch both on and off the field, which is why he's so likable!

As an active player he's a great pitcher, but he has been in the league for less than 5 years. He still has to prove that he can have a stable long last career. That means being healthy AND productive.

Great, still has a lot of work to do to be the greatest pitcher

Too early too tell if he is a great pitcher. He's got a good start but he's nowhere near the greatest pitcher.

Great pitcher...
anyone in their right mind wouldn't ever suggest he is the greatest pitcher...

he's not even a starter pitcher

How do you measure greatness? Borowski had more saves for the Indians does that make him better? Pap is sure scary looking on the mound, but that can't be the measure of greatness? It's not for his dancing ability. In baseball, greatness in a closer is measured by posting 35+ saves every year for many years, like Dennis Eckersly. We can't talk about Pap being great for years. Right now, he is a key part of a great team. He is a compelling personality and all of the Red Sox fans love him. So neither great nor greatest. Yet.
