The best thing to do would be to show the people around you, even people you don't know well that by you being their council rep, you would be able to make it a great school year for them. Make yourself standout from the other people that are running.

Maybe u should talk to a lot of people. U can't literally change the school so its mainly a popularity contest. Let urself known by making posters, meeting new people, pass out candies, etc.

Look around at the people who strongly support you.
Do they fit in other groups that you don't?
Ask them to talk to their friends in those groups. I helped a guy win a college president election that way when everyone thought he'd come in last.

well, i did the same thing, you do have to realize though, at that age its mostly a popularity contest.
Are you popular?
Find a way to sell your self, come up with cool advertisement posters, have a cool, trendy logo that people can put on their folders.

something kids do in my school is they get rolls of tape saying their name for president & give it to ppl
make suree you tell them what things your thinking of doing to change the school, alot of people in my school say more school dances, more fundraisers
talk to more people
