Having trouble sleeping. I always feel really sleepy in front of the T.V, then once I get into bed, I'm wide awake! Any answers?

Stop eating and drinking caffine 2 hours before bed. Stop watching t.v 30 minutes prior to the time that you want to go to bed. Get in bed and read a book for 20 minutes. If that doesn't work don't lay in bed awake for more than 30 minutes research shows that doing that disrupts your sleep. Get up and get some warm water or milk and try again in about 15 minutes. If all else fails lay in bed and totally think about something in deep detail (something intament or relaxing) and in no time you will be sleeping. That usually works for me.
Don't stare at the clock!

You can buy Melatonian at the health food store that helps bring on sleep.

I have hay fever and I take a half-dose (1 capsule) of night time sinus meds (Tylenol ) every night. I have not had a bad nights sleep in about 7 years.

I have the same problem. If you have a television in your room, put it on a sleep timer, maybe 30-60 min. Put it on a boring show so that you can still hear it, but you are not really paying attention to it. This sometimes works for me, but not all the time. Good luck!!

~excercise after dinner
~Turn off your tv and computer an hour before bed and do something else like:
~drink a cup of decaffeinated tea with milk a half an hour before bed
~read in bed (for some, this doesn't work- try searchword puzzles)
~warm bath before bed
~write music/poems/stories
Don't put the tv in your room, and keep your room dark and cool all night

I know what you mean. Try having something that can help you sleep, like warm milk or something like that. Maybe a little snack (Don't fill yourself too much cause its not healthy) so that you won't have something empty in your stomach.
