HellOOOOOO, the lion would win, it's way faster and has way bigger jaws, and is not so huge that it tires easily.
The lion would rock the socks off the bear I'd put money on it.

Without a doubt, a "Grizzly". Just think about it, they outweigh them by over 1000 lbs, they are 2 times there size, a Grizzly has 6 inch claws compared to a Lions 4 inch Claws, and "Gina", where did you get the idea a Lions jaws were bigger? The cartoon movie"Lion King"? Thats just simply not true. Grizzlies in Montanna have been "Seen" knocking the heads off of a 1200 lb. Elk with one swipe. I would tend to think an Elk's neck is a bit thicker than a Lions wouldnt you? Also, The Grizzlies Jaw-Crushing power is WAY stronger. On these "National Geographic" wildlife films, they show the Lions simply "Nawing" on the bones. even something as thin as a rib-bone, where on the other hand, the same wildlife films, Grizzlies leave nothing left of their prey except a "Blood-Stain" on the ground. They actually eat bone and all, waste nothing, especialy right before winter when they are trying to fatten up for their "Hibernation". So lets see, The Grizzly Is Twice The Size, Longer Claws, Stronger Bone-Crushing Jaws, They are "Ferocious" animals by nature, So if I was a betting man, I'd have to say a Grizzly would Tear a Lion apart within 1 minute. And thats if the Lion didnt run, like it most likely would. But if it didnt, no-more than a 60 second fight, Then a nice meal for the Grizzly, lol. Hope this answered your question friend! I'd go with the Grizzly Bear... with an average weight up to 1,500 lbs versus the 600 lbs of the average Lion - the size advantage goes to the bear.

Where as most of the time - the claws of the cat would give it more "weapons" versus a lot of critters ... bear claws are just as dangerous ... plus they'd be backed by stronger forelimbs.

The lion might have an edge when it comes to speed and agility - but I don't think that would be enough to take down a Grizzly.

I say African Lion! They have big teeth but the one thing they have that the bear doesn't is speed. They can run away then come right back at the bear and attack again before the bear realizes what happens. Lions are very smart animals and mean when they have to be
