I left England 6 years ago and have never been back. I had some experiences while growing up there for 19 years that made me feel i belong more here in the U.S and mostly, it was down to the violence in the majority of people in England.
You so much as look at them and bat an eyelash they start a fight with you and i know this doesn't go for everywhere. I once lived in Bridlington and the people there were very down to earth and friendly, same goes for the counrtyside of somerset.
I'm hearing from my family there that crimes are getting more and more outragious, even my grandfather was nearly jumped by a group of youths. He was getting into his car and they yelled "what the F*** are you looking at" i mean, come on, does the government and parent's/family not see a problem here???
Anyway, what brought me this was what i just read on CNN and wanted to ask anyone in the U.K what you think and if you think it's true.

I am afraid that I must agree with you (couldn't access link) that people in the UK are more aggressive, I spend my time in Spain (Denia) and Cyprus (Limassol) also the UK (family), the only time I see trouble abroad the British are usually involved. Girls are just as bad as the boys!!

When abroad I tend not to have anything to do with the British. My friends are Spanish & Cypriot. They are nice friendly people who can hold thier drink and just enjoy life.

Must be the weather!

You're hearing from your family here in England that crime figures are going up and up ?
Presumably you're saying that the USA offers a better alternative to England. Let's put it this way... here in England we haven't started shooting each other in schools which seems to be the trend there in the USA. What is it... 12 schools shootings in the last 8 years ? I mean.. TWELVE separate shootings ? In schools ? By students ? Get a life and stop comparing what is obviously not even...comparable!

Everywhere you look there is always going to be some kind of violence, unless you find an island just for yourself.
