He doesn't have any owners pts so thats why he has not been able to get close to making any races..He just needs seat time, I think eventually he will get it done, He needs to do some double duty, driving Busch (nationwide next yr) and Sprint Cup...Practice makes perfect...But he has to be committed to making it, only time will tell..

If I'm not mistaken, Sam has not yet committed to drive a full Nextel Cup series next year. We all know that Roger Penske is pushing this, but I believe that Sam wants to stay with Indy Cars. He has made mention several times that he doesn't like the 36 race schedule. I hope that he doesn't make the same mistakes that other open wheel drivers have made. If he returns next year, I only hope that Roger will start a satellite team for Ryan Briscoe to help get the car count up ! Plus, Ryan appears to be a pretty good driver.

Penske seems to be set on bringing Sam into NASCAR. I've heard that Ryan Briscoe will be replacing him in the IRL.

I don't quite get why Penske's doing this. At the very least I think Sam should spend a year in the Nationwide Series where he'll actually get to turn laps instead of packing up Friday afternoon.

The money pot is slowly sweetening in IRL, just as it has in ALMS over the past several years. It's still six laps behind the TaxiCab Behemoth, but I don't think a career as an IndyCar driver is as much of a financial dead end as it was, say, five years ago.

I would like to see Sam in CCWS, but that's just me (big CCWS nut)...

I think you will see him in the Nascar series next year be it Bush or Cup. I agree he needs seat time and practice.

His 30th place average in the minor league Busch series shows he doesn't have the skill.

Curt Cavin says it's a foregone conclusion. If he says it, it must be true.
