my 11 year old is pretty good at snowwboarding, mostly goes in Aspen/Snowmass. What is the best board?

My kids have riden K2 and Ride boards and we have been very happy with them. My oldest son's Ride board even has a "sintered" base which makes it much harder to scratch.

Of course there are other good brands, but I personally would just look for one with plenty of flex, a good FULL metal edge (even at the tip and tail) to protect the board and find one that has a good price. At 11 years old, they are only going to ride it 1 or 2 seasons before they outgrow it.

I bought better boards because my kids are 2 years apart and the board gets handed down every two years so they have to last 4 seasons.

Have you thought about season rental until the child learns what he/she likes?

Good luck

He probably wants a Burton. Pricey, but top quality all around. Since he is boarding at Snowmass im sure price isnt a problem. Go with Burton.

OK LISTEN!!!!! everyone thinks that burton is the best brand!ITS NOT!!! all burton does is waste your money and the base of them is really soft. kids like to explore the woods and stuff like that. so.... you want a hard base! burton is the exact oposite of hard base. take your child to the local snowshop and have him pick out his favorite color and design, then narrow out the boards simalar to that style and then find the exact board within' the pricerange. the best would be FLOW because they won the good wood award and they have an unslashable base, i have one and it hasnt got a scratch in it yet, ive had it for 4 years! so just all boards are the same but burton so just find one BESIDES BURTON that fits your style and go with it and have fun shreddin'

You gave about 1% of the info needed for someone to tell you what board to get. How bout height, weight, boot size, price range etc.????

Also for the guy that said burton's base's are "soft", you are a complete idiot and you know nothing about snowboarding.
