I'm now 38 weeks, 1 day. My little girl has been at a +1 station since 35 weeks. I now am almost 3cm dilated, and had my membranes stripped today. I've had a bit of BH contractions, and at one time thought we were headed for preterrm labor, but they quit. I have been having a lot of cramping for quite some time now, and frankly I'm just tired of being prego! This is my third child, but this pregnancy is so much different than the other two. The first was induced at 37.5, and the 2nd was preterm at 35 weeks. Is there any hope now that my membranes have been stripped or will I be pregnant for 2+ more weeks???!!!

Induction isn't an option for me unfortunately, due to the fact that I see a midwife. They won't induce unless it's medically needed. I'm currently having some 'harder' BH; I sure hope this works!! I, too believe that she will come when she's ready, but it seems like she'll never be ready! UrGH...

A friend of mine had her membranes stripped twice and she ended up being induced a week after her due date. I afraid that when it comes to babies, they come when they are ready, there is very little (besides induction) that we can do to make them come quicker. Good Luck, I hope your baby is ready to come soon!

I had mine done at 39wks with the first and nothing happened. they still induced me at 40+1 wks. The only thing it did was make me loss my plug and I stayed at the same dilation for that next week. hardly a braxton hick either.

I didn't have it done with the second and I went naturally at 40+2 wks.

I think its a matter of when you're baby is ready, it will come regardless of if you've had them stripped or not. In some it may work and others may just be coincidence.

Good luck and I hope in your case it does work enough to get things moving!

The best I can tell you is the baby will be born when he/she is ready to be born. I had a friend that was 40 weeks pregnant and induced and they ended up having to do a c section after she had been in labor for almost 2 days, because the baby just didnt want to be born, he went from being fully engaged to be really high. So Its pretty much up to the baby :) good luck

I had mine stripped at my 40 week appointment at 9 interior the morning. It replaced into 3 hundred AM the subsequent morning that my son replaced into born. :) I had my first contraction in the process the stripping of the membranes despite the fact that it in basic terms felt like a minor cramp. I cramped all day till finally the night while i ought to tell they have been extremely good contractions. good success. :)

It is supposed to encourage real contractions.... if it worked, it usually happens within hours of the procedure. I had it done with my first son, and that night I went into labor. I had it with my second son, and nothing happened.... I had to be induced with him a few days later. If you don't go into labor tonight, ask your doctor to induce you.

It varies for every one...but for me I did that as well and I was still pregnant for another 3 weeks!! My son was very sick and had already pooped and swallowed and inhaled his feces...Don't depend on it to work....I was a month over due and about to kill my doctor!!

It didn't do anything for me. I was 41 wks and ended up having cervidil. Maybe it will work for you, you're already more dialated than I was then.

I had that done and nothing happened. Alot of cramping and that was about it. My son was a stubborn little fart. I swear they almost needed to crowbar him out. :)
