Do people just visit this site to see how hard they can disagree?

Question

Liberal/Humanist questions with reactionary answers disagreeing.

Conservative/Fundamentalist/Pro-war questions with anti-war answers.

Is it all about some thrill they get out of answering a question just to disagree with the asker? Most people dont even answer questions with people they agree with?

Also, isnt this enabling warmongers and/or religous fanatics with nowhere else to turn?

is it really any fun to answer someone's question with, "Yeah I agree with you"?

Of course we go to the ones posted by people we disagree with. It's called debate- they present their case and you give your opinion. You may agree on some factors but if you see something a different way, there shouldn't be a big issue with saying how you see things. Granted, it can't be a genuine debate unless they IM you to give you their next talking point...

It's not even a case of "here's how I can prove you wrong". Or at least it isn't to me. Though I do at times throw out some sarcasm to the really cocky people on here who only ask questions to get people riled up, not specifically because they want a genuine answer.

Personally, I come here:

1. To try to answer questions with which I have personal experience to help out someone who might not have that.

2. To read questions I may have wondered about myself at some point and see what answers are offered up.

3. To laugh at the number of totally misguided fools with Bush Derangement Syndrome who are SO out of control of their own lives that they need to blame someone for their own shortcomings. I love how Bush created Katrina, started the wildfires, collapsed the bridge in MN, lied to Hillary about Iraq (even though she didn't consult him, she consulted Bill's intel friends) and did every other conceivable thing to create every other disaster out there. I don't know whether it's funny or scary that there are that many imbeciles out there... but if I don't laugh, I'll cry, so...

no it's about anger and frustration for both sides of this ...eh' Debate?
Let's face it, we all suffer the same burden, one group wants to blame the other when in fact they are both the targets of a corrupt and out of control system..,,
I just posted a question suggesting that Yahoo is a sham ... straight up. Certain questions never make it through, other questions that fan the flames have no problem getting through.. there is no doubt that a majority of the country is unhappy with the current situation both domestically and internationally and yet in here it's 5/50... think that's an accident??????

Don't you find debating with people and seeing other views other than your own kinda stimulating?? Opinionated people will often disagree even if the person they are arguing with is right, but it's fun sometimes! :)

I really don't take this seriously at all. I like reading the answers and a few people on both sides seem really bright, but most of it is really nonsense - at least from the righties.
