How long are you really supposed to bleed after birth?

I only bled the heavy bleed for about 2 weeks and then it gradually lessened to the browny stuff for the next two weeks. Only 4 weeks of bleeding altogether. This is entirely normal. They say 6 wks or less because if its still there after 6 weeks there could be a problem. If you've stopped now thats normal.
If your still worried ring your doc so he can make sure there aren't any problems.

I'm very wsorry to hear about your loss. **hugs**

best of luck

I only bleed for about 2 weeks after both my still born and son at 36 weeks. I think some women just bleed more/less and the 6 wk span is to cover all cases.

The amount of time and blood you bleed after having a baby varies depending on the woman. The pink and brown blood is old blood that is being flushed away. If you are worried about it contact your OB/GYN.

It could have been old blood left over from the stillbirth. Im sorry about your loss. Good luck with conceiving in the future.

I am so sorry about the loss of your baby.
Different women spot for longer than others. It isn't ever an EXACT 6 weeks.
When you go back to your Dr for your check-up, just let him/her know you are a bit concerned and I am sure he/she will reassure you that everything is fine.
