I shop at Newegg.com

Their prices seem to be much more cheaper than any other place I've seen.

best thing you could do is go to http://www.newegg.com or http://www.zipzoomfly.com and look at the cards in your price range, then compare the specifications and read the reviews until you find something you are happy with.

You are definitely going to want something capable of DirectX 10, so there wouldn't be much point wasting your money on a 7x series card when you won't be able to see Crysis in all of it's glory.

If possible, I would save up some more money and at least get something in the $300 range... an 8800gts will definitely be worth it over the 8600s or lower. I've never owned an ATI card but was considering it after some issues I was having with my 7950gtx on Vista 64... a reinstall of Vista solved my problem so I'm back to looking at an 8800gtx so I can do the DirectX 10 thing.

Well guys, nvidia has its ups but so does Radeon. I used to own nvidia card but switched to a Radeon X1300 with 512 dd2 memory many months ago and the card gives me a frame rate of over 200 on even the newest games (Gears of War) and when I up the eye candy and resolution; minimal drop in resolution. Oh, did I mention the X1300 w/ 512 costs only $95?

Well first of all good job on going to newegg, it rocks. Second, i would defiantly recommend Nvidea video card. They are top of the line in almost all aspects. You could probobly get as high as 8200GTX for less then 200, which is very top of the line. If not, 8200GT or just G would be just as good.
Hope it helps
Dan

Well if you like newegg this will do good if you got XP OS.

Should play Crysis at Med and COD4.
I the scores are higher than the Nvidia 8600's and ATI's 2600's under DX9.

But if you got Vista DX10 then.

I like nVidia's stuff so I'd go with one of the 8600GTS 256MB cards.
