Good question! They also didn't enact a ban against gay marriage or a ban against flag burning. They didn't fix immigration problems, either.

So you see...they just use those wedge issues to get their base all riled up and out to the voting booths, and then they don't do a dang thing about the issues once they're elected.

For extra humor, consider the fact that these same betrayed cons will come on YA! and talk about how black people keep trusting the Democratic Party even though it doesn't do anything for them. Bwaaaaaaaah!

Well then how could they use it again as a rallying cry to get the base all riled up and out to vote, they NEVER planned on actually doing anything about the so called Value Voters wants, they just pandered to get them out there voting republican, the GOP party of cynicism and feigned outrage

And they had the majority of the supreme court.

The reason is they don't actually want to change the law. They would rather have lots of voters think that they want to change the law, so they will get votes. It is a big issue for both sides. They can get votes for their "stance" but not actually have to accomplish anything.

Because religion is not something that Republicans believe in. Religion is something that Republicans use to get the ignorant masses to vote for them.

It is no different from being against homosexuality while at the same time propositioning strange men in bathrooms.

Where have you been?

They PASSED a law banning "partial-birth abortion," it was SIGNED into law by Bush, it was UPHELD by the Republican-dominated Supreme Court!!!

What "abortion bill" were they supposed to "repeal" ...?

Yeah, I ask myself the same question. This and the liberal approach to illegal immigration is exactly why I parted ways with the GOP and consider myself an independent conservative.

Because these republicans pandered to the religious "bible belt" to get the votes. Once they got in, republicans sort of "forgot" about the promises they made. Welcome to the world of politics.

Learn about how goverment works before asking a question. That is not up to them It is up to the supreame court as they rule on the constituionality of such laws and when they have tried to change the law the court has struck it down.

Abortion Bill ? No such thing . It is legal because of the supreme court, not legislation .

War was more important to them than not killing fetuses.
