Or do you have a contingency plan, like a backup vehicle, or mass transit?

I was without a car for almost six months. It was the best thing that ever happened to me! lol I didn't have to pay high gas prices, didn't shop as much, got a lot more exercise by walking most places and only rode the bus if I had no other choice. I also didn't have to take other people places they wanted to go. It was perfect!

I have a backup vehicle and I live within biking distance from my work... although during the winter, not so much. Also, my only bicycle is a Schwinn Stingray with a banana seat, a horn, a flag, and a bell -- for safety purposes.

My car burned up summer before last, and I had to wait 3 months for the insurance to settle.

I was able to get to work and run errands on mass transit, but it put a MAJOR crimp in my freedom!!!
