I keep getting all decimals...???

Yeah, the answer is really decimal.
Here's the solution:
81s^2 - 16 = 0
81s^2 = 16
s^2 = 16/81
s = (16/81)^1/2 or s = √(16/81)
s = ±(4/9) or s = ±(0.44444444)

I wonder why they call it a "solution set" these days! This is standard algebra.

If you put the 16 on the other side (by adding 16 to both sides), you get 81s*2=16. Take the square root of both sides, and you get 9s=4. Divide both sides by 9 to get s. That gives s=4/9 as the other fellow said. But that's the math involved. Hope that helps!

It's been, ummmm, nearly 50 years since I studied algebra, so you tickled some old brain cells for me! LOL But choose the other guy's answer because he got to you first. :)
