I would absolutely not send the item under those kind of conditions! USPS does offer shipping confirmation and tracking numbers if you pay for it. but the other person will not send you the money till he/she knows the item is in the mail??!! that sounds fishy to me! and in fact with a money order they are more secure to get their money back if you did not send the item, than you are to get the item back if they do not pay. any store you pay first then get the item, even on eBay that's how it works! pay first then get the item. I really would refrain from doing the transaction by that means. If anything set up a pay-pal transaction before shipping the item and then you are both secure.

I do a lot of shipping with USPS. You would be the one sending the person the email via USPS when you ship the item if using the site to do your shipping. If you are using the USPS shipping site, then the other person would be receiving this information, not the other way around, when you fill in the other person's email address. USPS then sends the receiver an email with the shipping information and the tracking number. You also would not be shipping the item until you receive the money order. This all sounds fishy to me as why would you ship something you haven't received payment for yet. Do not send the item until you have the money order and have cashed it.

You should get the money first and then ship the item. If you ship it before the money is mailed to you will probably never get paid and it is a scam.

The only thing you can do, is buy postage online, which gives you a tracking number, but not send the actual package until the money arrives.

I still say SCAM however

1. never ship anything until their check or money order has cleared your bank, this may take as much as 7 working days.
2. The buyer does nor dictate your shipping schedule, you do!
3. USPS does not have a tracking service for packages shipped via USPS.
Sounds like this is a SCAM.. Tell your buyer you will ship when their money order clears your bank.. Bet that will be the last time your hear from them.
good luck

It sounds like the e-mail instructed you to ship the item before you're paid. This is not normally how mail order transactions are done. It sounds like a scam to me.

attempt to no longer panic. Have the recipient call her close by submit workplace and ask for the supervisor. they are going to ask for her transport confirmation # so she could have that waiting. She then could propose that the equipment replaced into in no way extra. additionally, if she keeps to be domicile, she will watch for the mail service and ask them in my opinion what occurred to her equipment. in the event that they have get admission to to a working laptop or laptop, they'd desire to attempt and print out the website that asserts "extra." you're very smart to insure the equipment. a minimum of that's insured. on an identical time as there are a number of thieves presently, even the bell ringers on the storefronts (via fact of this I in no way supply anymore), you should be calm and not panic. The equipment could nevertheless be extra. keep in mind that there are a gazillion applications and mail to be extra, no longer in trouble-free terms yours. To me, mailing such high priced products is particularly precarious. i'd particularly supply them the money so as that they are in a position to pass to their nearest save and get their stuff. Walmart has sturdy sales on laptops. Say a prayer, and desire for the applicable. shop calling. sturdy success. I pronounced a splash prayer for you. chuffed holidays.
