Test with headphones. If ok, speakers are busted.

If still no sound on headphones, click Start, click Run, type dxdiag, ok. Select Sound tab. If device and driver details are not
there:
1. Try a system restore to the time when sound was ok.
2. If the first does not work, reinstall your soundcard driver. It is usually in the driver CD that came w/ PC. If gone, download a copy from PC maker's website.
Afterwards, go back to dxdiag to check and test sound.

two things are that the speakers are no good. to test this try them on another computer or your sound card is broken. try going to a computer store and buying a new one. to put one in ask the people how to install it or if you dont trust yourself ask then if they can fix it for you

Good Day..... Try to go to start,...Control panel,....system,...hardware,... then device manager then look if your sound card is detected....if it is detected then something is wrong with your sound card....if not detected ...then you try to reseat your sound card if any and clean the terminal with pencil eraser.....
I give this advice assuming you are trouble shooting a desktop computer.....you didn't specify what kind of machine do you have.....
