If you were sexually assaulted by a doctor in a hospital during a procedure who's attentions would you send the complaint letter to? There are so many divisions in a hospital, what title should one look for to find the ONE in charge? The one who oversees it all and will not intercept a letter getting to the very top. I need the title of the head, very top, big chief. I'm coming up with a million different departments. What should I be looking for in a title?

You do realize there will be extensive investigation, I presume. You are going to have to be able to pinpoint a time when the doctor was totally alone with you long enough for this alleged assault (yes, they will write it as alleged unless and until it is proven) to have happened, that there was no nurse or other assistant in the room for a long enough period. The police are the people to start with. Good luck.

You must file a police report. The higher ups in the hospital will not conduct an expeditious investigation. They are too worried about liability. They will also give warning to the doctor by way of asking him or her questions about your letter. Do not go directly through the hospital. Go straight to the police with the account of what happened to you and they will take it from there. They also have the power via the district attorney to subpeona records.

Report the incident to the police first then, get a copy of the statement then go to the hospital's administrative offices, to have the doctor who examined the patient be banned from medical practice until there's an investigation. Maybe other patients may be victims would come forward too.
