Do you prefer direct or indirect questions?

Prefer direct questions myself but I am aware that lots of people prefer indirect questions.

Direct. That way I don't feel stupid when it turns out I can't pick up on the question hidden in an indirect question.

Direct Q's are best if the person expects an answer.
