You have to have a light touch with makeup as a young woman. You don't really need it and it will make you look like a hooker if you use too much. You have such radiant skin and you cover that up and you lose what older women would kill for, Silky fresh faces.

Tinted moisturizer with sunscreen, maybe a little shimmer, NOT a full blown foundation and concealer should not be necessary. If you don't already have blemishes, you will start getting them by wearing heavier makeup and also by not taking care of your skin with proper cleansing products. If you do have blemishes at 13, you probably need to back off makeups and allow your skin to breathe and heal or else it is going to be even worse later.
NO EYE MAKEUP. Eyeliner has gotten so slutty and spooky lately. You are not old enough for such a dramatic look. I suppose if you could use a lot of restraint. But if your peers and celebrities are making vampire eyes, I guess that's who you would learn from.
Cheek color needs to be very light, maybe a bronzer or a neutral color.
Lip moisturizer, not slick and shiny shiny, goopy. Lip Smackers are good for a girl your age. No color is necessary.
Nails should also be clean and neat, polishes should be clear to barely there, and should help keep nails strong and healthy.
Girls need to wear perfumes that are age appropriate. You don't need the sexiest muskiest scent out there. Maybe just stick to scented body products like your soap and deodorant and hair products...or a scent that is light and fresh.
I also need to make this statement: I think all females need to score a certain amount on a psych and self-esteem test before they are allowed to get their makeup privileges. Really. Young and old, many of us spend a lot of time and money trying to mask who we are, lie about our age, and otherwise create illusions of outward beauty, all the time being too insecure to show who we really are.
Honestly, the prettiest thing about a young girl is her smile, tight skin, and her sparkling eyes. Don't try to ruin that look by creating a fake face, neglecting your skin and teeth. And stay away from drugs and junk food. You will be prettier without them.

If you really have to wear make up at 13 then mascara and maybe a little neutral eyeshadow.
but you know if it is you thats 13 youve got plenty of time until you need to wear makeup. Im in my 50's and i only ever wear mascara and eyeshadow when i go out...sometimes- i dont need it.
just dress and act nice and you will stand out for the right reasons

what on earth does a 13 year old have to conceal? Unless she has acne or very dark circles, no concealer.
I say a little tinted moisturizer or luminizer, a little mascara, maybe a little bit of eyeliner and some light lip gloss.

I think makeup for a woman of any age should help bring out the natural look instead of making the girl look like someone she's not. Just be yourself, experiment with what looks good and natural and what you feel comfortable with. If you have doubts about whether or not a look is appropriate ask a trusted adult such as a parent or and aunt.

I have a 13 year old and all i let her wear is a little eyeliner. You ladies are young and beautiful and you really don't need anything. Especially concealer.

I think 13 is too young for real makeup, but that is between you and your mom. I am 30 and still prefer natural. I wear lipglosses to lipsticks.
If you have breakouts, have your mom get you a topical medicine that they sell at the drugstore. Makeup usually makes these things worse.

I think lip gloss, a natural color eye shadow and mascara. You are lucky. I didn't start wearing make up until I was 17. The boys liked me anyway though, because they were more interested in natural beauty than the fake stuff

believe it or not most 13 year old girls I know don't wear makeup. Some times it can make them look too slutty.
You might try a light colored lip gloss but don't paste on eye shadow or eyeliner.
Most middle schools don't allow girls to wear make up.
