Multiculturalisim is many things but with the white population stagnant or fallling and illegal immigration, as well as legal immigration growing expotentially. With the immigrant communities demanding priviliges so that they are given special treatment, therefore in a generation or two down the line this is the legacy you have left your children and your childrens children. As an example within 20 years Birmingham will have an ethnic majority as will alot of other British towns and citys lose their britishness. This scenario is playing out right now in the most liberal place in Europe Holland where they have realised the mistake of mass immigration and are gradually becoming the most right wing country the continent has seen in maybe sixty years. Now you can either be adult about this and give an intelligent response take on board what i have said and acknowledge that a sizeable majority agree with me or you can jump up and down like a small child who doesnt get his way.

to be honest I'm not fussed whether I'm a minority or a majority
I don't care who comes to this country as long as they contribute to society and accept our culture then that's good enough for me!
for those who dont, they should get the next boat out of here

The mistake is to think that this is hapening only in England. Other countries in Europe are going through the very same thing. Portugal has received thousands upon thousands of Russians and Ukranians. The Portuguese population is fed up and the Portuguese have become very racist and very hostile against outsiders in the last few years as a result. I really don't know what is going on but I know that governments of Europe, for some reason, have encouraged this mass migration from outside Europe into Europe for whatever reason that might be.
As confused as I might be over this issue, I take my hat to "nic_ess" and what she has said. I hope she is right.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest. Even if I was a 'minority' I wouldn't consider myself to be one or choose to think in those terms. It's this 'us and them' mentality that causes problems for those who want to integrate into British society. As immigrants enter Britain, British people leave and vice-versa, we are all citizens of the world and should be thankful that we can choose where we live and what we will do. If you feel uncomfortable right here, find somewhere else you like.

My children's children will not have a legacy of immigrant communities getting 'priviliges', what they will know tolerance, understanding and a wide view of society and what goes on around them.

I disagree that 'a sizeable majority' agree with you. Most people (of any colour) just want to live and let live in my experience.

All this hysteria and doom-saying you display seems more American-neo-con than British to me, especially the 'white liberals' bit. Conservatives or socialists, possibly, but 'liberals'? Are you absorbing more from abroad than you realise?

Britain is a fine country. I am proud to live here and sad that you can't be more proud of this fine nation of ours.

I don't really get what you mean since I believe that all men were created equal. A lot of good men including Presidents before me have written and believed this. As a matter of fact I once heard George Bush quote it. You can't talk out of both sides of your mouth. Either you are or you aren't. I can never be a minority as I am in the human race.

Is this guy your uncle ? -

OLYMPIA, Washington: A Republican state legislator resigned Wednesday amid revelations that he had sex with a man he met at a pornographic video store while in Spokane on a party retreat.

The move comes days after state Rep. Richard Curtis insisted to his local newspaper that he was not gay and that sex was not involved in what he said was an extortion attempt by a man last week.

But in police reports, Curtis alleges he was being extorted by a man he had sex with in a Spokane hotel room. The other man contends Curtis reneged on a promise to pay $1,000 (€692) for sex.

A Republican successor will be chosen by county Republican leaders, and will serve until the 2008 election.

Curtis, 48, told police he was the victim of an extortion attempt by Cody Castagna at the posh Davenport Tower hotel on Oct. 26, search warrant documents said. Castagna, 26, told police that Curtis had agreed to pay him for sex, then reneged.

Curtis is married and has children, according to his legislative Web site. Elected to the state House of Representatives in 2004, he voted in 2005 and 2006 against a bill that granted civil rights protections to gays and lesbians, and in 2007 voted against a bill that created domestic partnerships for same-sex couples. Both measures eventually passed the Democratic-controlled state Legislature and are now state law.

Curtis was among state Republican lawmakers in Spokane Oct. 24-26 for a retreat to discuss the upcoming legislative session. He went to the Hollywood Erotic Boutique early on Oct. 26 and met Castagna, who accompanied him to the hotel, police documents said.

The two arrived at the hotel around 3:30 a.m. and had sex, after which Curtis fell asleep, according to documents released Tuesday.

well i do not know what is wrong with a place having a different sense to it. do British care that they are changing little bits of Spain, Portugal and morroco to be like Britain. i hope no one really thinks its a problem there really as its not, its a world and small so why not go where you can live better. Besides the British way was always to go places and change the culture. didn't really care about destroying Irish culture are the cultures of other parts of what was the empire. so why should anyone coming into Britain see a need to join in the culture of Britain since its the same really as from where they came.
