Well it depends on what kind of games you want to play. If you are a hardcore gamer, the PS3 is better for you. If you like to play all kinds of different video games, the Wii is better for you. I personally prefer the Wii because it has plenty of great first-party games like Mario, Zelda and, Metriod and the Wii has a lot of third-party support.

Here is a comparision of PS3 and X360 graphics .

X360 500 MHz codenamed "Xenos" (ATI custom design)
PS3 550 MHz RSX (based on NVIDIA G70 architecture)

The PS3 has better graphics.

I Love my 360, I have a friend that has a ps3 and thinks the 360 is better and is going to buy a 360 this x mas. really graphically they are about the same you can go to IGN or Gamespot.com the have done comparison on same LCD TV, in many cases the 360 has better Graphics.
This is what they had to say:
Conclusion1The Xbox 360 had better graphics in almost all the games we examined. The 360's biggest victories were in Madden 07 and Fight Night Round 3, where the differences in texture detail and lighting stood out in our comparison shots. We couldn't capture this in the screenshots, but the Xbox 360 games generally offered better framerates too.
We're going to give the PS3 the benefit of the doubt in this initial round since developers might need more time to figure out how to maximize performance from the Cell and the RSX. If you look at the Xbox 360's first Madden game, Madden 06, you'll notice that it doesn't offer very realistic stadium shadows, either. The trouble with buying a console at launch is that you often have to wait for the second or third generation of games for the system to fulfill its potential. The PS3 didn't beat the 360 in this first comparison, but the games do look fine for first-generation titles. The real graphics battle will likely come next year.
Conclusion 2Our quick seven-game tour has shown that the PlayStation 3's game graphics are getting closer to the Xbox 360's. The Xbox 360 had an edge in texture quality and antialiasing in many of the games, but we didn't see any nasty lighting deficiencies like the ones we found in Fight Night Round 3 in the original comparison feature. Additionally, in what may be a hint of things to come, Bethesda's Oblivion proved that there can be a PS3 game port with better textures than the Xbox 360 version. The PS3's graphics win in Oblivion gives us hope that game developers will be able to produce competitive graphics if given enough time to work with the hardware. We can't wait to see how the games compare this holiday season!

I think the 360 interface is much better. the market place is huge, ps3 is small. the 360 you can download tv shows, movies, game video, and my favorite lots Game Demos video arcade and when they have E3 the game conference they post the video and demos . Right now 360 games out sold ps3 and wii put together, second they also have the most highest ranking games, that the ps3 doesn't have. go and check it out here http://majornelson.com/archive/2007/10/18/september-npd-numbers-are-in.aspx

The six axis controller on the ps3, it;s ok for a few min but you tend to use the standard controls setup, biggest complaint of the ps3 is it light weight and no rumble in game, which stinks. The 360 has an awesome controller, but if your are ps2 owner some people say it take a little time to adjust to.

If you play on line it worth the 50 a year. on line ranking, chat with multi friends even if playing different games, quality of service, custom music in any game , music connect pictures video from you pc and media center extender and much more to list and more added all the time making it better.
well and really if money not an issue you can buy both or buy both and sell the one you don't like and rent the games if you don't want to buy, but remember you can download around 200 demos from the 360 even some before they are even released. well that will hopefully help your decision process.

for frailer rates on the 360 have not been issue since the updates they made just make sure it a new model. I have not had any issues with mine. I heard they have almost disappeared since all the updates, plus there is a 3 year ring of death on it and great customer service from Microsoft it it happens to fail,

The PS3 is better than the Wii, and Xbox 360 put together. There's no comparing the PS3 to the Nintendo Wii. The Wii is a console mostly for younger children or for casual gamers.

The PS3 is better than the Xbox 360 in terms of graphics. So many Xbox 360 owners say that the 360 has better graphics on multiplatform games like Obilvion, but PS3 exclusive games have better graphics, and outclass Xbox 360 games in every single way. Plus, the PS3 is still in it's first year and it will take time for multiplaform developers to use the PS3's potential.

And , the Xbox 360 doesn't have better graphics than the PS3, even on multiplatform games like Obilivon, Xbox 360 owners are lying to themselves if they say that the 360 has better graphics than the PS3.

Game developers that make games for multiplatforms don't put the work into making the game specifically for the PS3 like the PS3 exclusive games that are developed by Sony.

PS3 is better than Wii, but when it comes to graphics, it's the 360. Look at Oblivion for 360 and Oblivion for PS3, the PS3 version doesn't look as good as the 360 version.

I own all three of them and in the best order is this.

1-Wii:cheaper, funner, the best over all

2-360:little pricey but well worth it

3-ps3:regret the buy, not worth it at.

the ps3 does have great graphics, better than the others, but isnt worth the price

all my friends and family agrees that the Wii is the best

Heres the cons of all the consoles:Wii Technical issues:

The first firmware update via WiiConnect24 caused a very small portion of units to become completely unusable. This forced users to either send their units to Nintendo for repairs (if they wished to retain their saved data) or exchange it for a free replacement.

Legal issues:

Interlink Electronics filed a patent-infringement lawsuit against Nintendo over the pointing functionalities of the Wii Remote, claiming, "loss of reasonable royalties, reduced sales and/or lost profits as a result of the infringing activities" of Nintendo. Anascape Ltd, a Texas-based firm, also filed a lawsuit against Nintendo for patent infringements. Green Welling LLP filed a class action lawsuit against Nintendo for their "defective wrist straps". A Texas-based company called Lonestar Inventions has also sued Nintendo, claiming that the company copied one of Lonestar's patented capacitor designs and used it in the Wii console.

Hacking:

The Wii has been hacked to enable an owner to use the console for activities other than those intended by Nintendo. Several brands of modchips are available for the Wii. Hackers have also reprogrammed the Wii Remote to control devices unrelated to the console through Wii homebrew.Xbox 360 technical problems:The Xbox 360 can be subject to a number of possible technical problems. Since the console's release in 2005, the console's reliability gained a bad reputation from the general public, and in the press through articles portraying its poor reliability and relatively high failure rates.

Microsoft has subsequently introduced design revisions, and upgraded the 360's manufacturer's warranty to alleviate the problem.

Sales:
Quarter Units sold
Q4 2005 1.5 million
Q1 2006 1.7 million
Q2 2006 1.8 million
Q3 2006 0.9 million
Q4 2006 4.4 million
Q1 2007 0.5 million
Q2 2007 0.8 million
Q3 2007 1.8 million
Cumulative totals
to Q3 2007 13.4 million

The Xbox 360 began production only 69 days before launch. As a result, Microsoft was not able to supply enough systems to meet initial consumer demand in Europe or North America. Many potential customers were not able to purchase a console at launch. This lack of availability caused Xbox 360 bundles to sell on eBay at inflated prices; some auctions exceeded US$6,000. Forty thousand units appeared on eBay during the initial week of release; this was 10% of the total supply. By year's end, Microsoft had shipped 1.5 million units, including 900,000 in North America, 500,000 in Europe, and 100,000 in Japan.

At E3 in May 2006, Bill Gates announced that Microsoft would have a head start of 10 million units by the time Sony and Nintendo enter the market. Microsoft later specified that goal and estimated shipments of 10 million units by the end of 2006, a target it passed by 400,000 units.[citation needed] As of August 2007, the Xbox 360 has sold 8.9 million units worldwide. As of September 1, 2007, 6.3 million Xbox 360 units have been sold to consumers in the United States,[citations needed] and as of July 18, 2007, 420,000 units in Japan. Although the console is a success in the United States and Europe it continues to struggle in Japan, placing third in the Japanese market.

During an earnings call in January 2007, Microsoft's CFO downgraded estimated Xbox 360 sales for the first half of 2007. Cumulative sales from the system's launch until June 30, 2007 were predicted to reach 12 million units, down from 13 to 15 million units estimated earlier. Microsoft later announced they shipped 11.6 million units cumulative to June 30, 2007.[citations needed] Being released one year ahead of its competitors, the Xbox 360 was the market leader throughout the first half of 2007. However on September 12, 2007, it was reported by the Financial Times that the Xbox 360 had been surpassed by the Wii in terms of worldwide console sales. On October 4, 2007, Microsoft stated that Xbox 360 sales have more than doubled when compared with the weekly average before the Halo 3 launch.

Based on figures from October 19, 2007, the Xbox 360 outsold the Wii for the month of September in North America, helped in part by the spike in sales seen after the launch of Halo 3, which sold 3.3 million copies in the U.S. in a 12-day period. The Xbox had sales of 528,000 units for September, while the Wii had sales of 501,000 units.
However, despite these sales figures, Microsoft's gaming division is losing money. Up to 2005, the Xbox gaming division had lost over $4 billion dollars. However, Microsoft expects the console will start making money in 2008. The losses are due to the market strategy of selling consoles below cost in order to obtain market saturation and turn a profit on software and peripherals that have a much higher profit margin. Also notable is that Microsoft expects it needs to spend one billion dollars for repairs or replacements of bricked Xbox 360s. PS3 Differences:

In addition to all of the features of the 20 GB model, the 60 GB model has internal IEEE 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, multiple flash card readers (SD/MultiMedia Card, CompactFlash Type I/Type II, Microdrive, Memory Stick/PRO/Duo) and a chrome coloured trim. In terms of hardware, the 80 GB model released in South Korea is identical to the 60 GB model released in Europe and Australia (European territories), except for the difference in hard drive size. Like the South Korean and Europe models, the North American 80 GB model also excludes the PlayStation 2 "Emotion Engine" chip, instead providing PS2 compatibility via software emulation, thereby reducing the level of compatibility (see Removal of hardware support for more details). The 40 GB model has two USB ports instead of the four USB ports on other models, and does not include a multi memory card port, SACD support, or any backwards compatibility with PlayStation 2 titles.

No official Wi-Fi or flash memory card readers have yet been released by Sony for the 20 GB system, although plans for such add-ons are in place. Nevertheless, as the model features four USB 2.0 ports, wireless networking and flash memory card support can already be obtained through the use of widely available external USB adapters.

While it was rumored that Second generation PS3s (40 GB) would be using using Cell CPUs of 65nm, Sony has revealed that all current PS3 models continue to use 90mn processors.

Sales and production costs:

PlayStation 3 launch - Release data and pricing

Region Units sold First available
Japan 1,143,798 as of September 3, 2007 11 November 2006
North America 1,750,000 as of October 18, 2007 17 November 2006
PAL territories 1,300,000 as of August 23, 2007 23 March 2007 (more...)
Worldwide 5.59 million as of September 30, 2007

The PlayStation 3's initial production cost is estimated to have been US$805.85 for the 20 GB model and US$840.35 for the 60 GB model; however, they were priced at US$499 and US$599, respectively. The high manufacturing costs meant that every unit was sold at a loss of approximately $250, contributing to Sony's games division posting an operating loss of ¥232.3 billion (US$1.97 billion) in the fiscal year ending March 2007.In April 2007, soon after these results were published, Ken Kutaragi, the head of gaming at Sony, announced plans to retire. Various news agencies, including The Times and The Wall Street Journal reported that this was due to poor sales, whilst SCEI maintains that Kutaragi had been planning his retirement for six months prior to the announcement.

Since the system's launch, production costs have been reduced significantly as a result of phasing out the EE chip and falling hardware costs. The cost of manufacturing Cell microprocessors has fallen dramatically as a result of moving to the 65 nm production process and Blu-ray diodes being around $100 cheaper to manufacture.

The cumulative reduction in production costs is as follows:

* Blu-ray (cost reduction: US$100)
* Cell B.E. (cost reduction: US$29 – US$40)
* EE removal (cost reduction: US$27)
* Chipset Modifications: Sony has removed a CXD9208GP, 2 RDRAM chips (US$5), and some passives and are planning on moving the RSX graphics chip from 90 nm to 65 nm production process and "the unification of separate smaller ICs — such as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi — into single chip solutions and a change to a more specialized Southbridge." (cost reduction: unknown)

This brings the total cost reduction to at least $156 excluding the chipset modifications. Excluding the 65nm Cell B.E. change, the minimum cost reduction based on this approximation becomes $127.

On January 7, 2007, Sony met its goal of shipping 1 million units to North America. Just over a week later, on January 16, 2007, Sony confirmed they had shipped 1 million units in Japan, bringing the worldwide total to over 2 million shipped. As of April 1, 2007, approximately 5.5 million units had been shipped worldwide.

In the worldwide marketplace, PlayStation 3 is currently behind its competitor systems, the Xbox 360 and the Wii, both overall and in monthly sales. In Japan the Wii outsold the PS3 by 3 to 1 in August, 4 to 1 in July, 6.5 to 1 in June, 5.6 to 1 in May and 4 to 1 in April. likewise the PS3 sold 2.5 times more units in June than the Xbox 360. In Japan 2,800,576 Wiis have been sold in total, compared to 1,143,798 PS3s; however the Xbox 360, which was released almost a year earlier than its competitors has sold only 380,131 units.
In North America, the PS3 was outsold 4.4 to 1 by the Wii and 2.2 to 1 by the Xbox 360 in June 2007, and sold the least units of any seventh generation console in the period January through April. Additionally, the PS3 saw the largest drop in sales of the three systems, selling 37% less in April than the previous month; Sony has attributed the poor sales in April to a lack of new software for the console. In many cases, the system has been outsold by its predecessor, the PlayStation 2.

Sony has stated that the PS3 has been consistently outselling its competitors in Australia, although it still lags behind both in total units sold.
