For me, there's nothing like watching an awesome RB break away from the defenders. My list:
1. Barry Sanders
2. Eric Dickerson
3. Walter Peyton
4. Terrel Davis
5. Earl Campbell

Really surprised by the number of Bo Jackson fans. I too really liked Bo when he first came out, he just didn't make much of an impact or hang around long enough for me. Anyway, good lists.

I loved watching all of these guys. I just couldn't stand Bo Jackson in a Raiders uniform, other than that....all of these were great players.

i haven't had the opportunity to watch all the greatest, such as Walter Peyton, Eric Dickerson, and Earl Campbell. i began watching the NFL in the early 90's, so that's my list above, which are the most exciting players i have ever watched. yes, i know AD is only a rookie, but he already is among the top rb's i have been priveleged to watch. yes, i know i didn't put down Emmitt Smith. yes, he was a great all around rb, but it was his OL that did the job, he just ran through a huge hole heading straight towards the endzone, nothing spectacular.

3. Walter "Sweetness" Peyton
4. Emmitt Smith

Honorable Mention: William "Refrigerator" Perry cuz that was just FUNNY!

#5 may suprise people but watch some of Williams college videos.. he's graceful in traffic like Barry Sanders was and enjoyable to watch make Defenders look like clowns

Bo Jackson
Barry Sanders
OJ
Gale Sayers
Sweetness

If you aren't allowing murderers on the list, then let's get rid of OJ and go with Marcus Allen.

And if we can't have total jerks on the list, Dickerson goes away in favor of LaDainian Tomlison.
