Last week during a complete physical, I mentioned the symptoms, burning, frequent urination, etc. that occur with cystitis. The culture came back normal. I still have the symptoms, even after trying an OTC product. Is there a doctor in the house, or another woman-sister who has a suggestion?

You may have interstitial cystitis, which has some of the same symptoms as cystitis but with no bacteria.

I would go to a gynocologist. I have recurrent infections down there that result in the symptoms you're discussing, and I have given up on regular internal med. doctors because it's just not their business. After 2 clean UTI screenings by them, a gyn. did a pelvic to find a bacterial infection that took antibiotics to cure.
Why OTC products did you try? the Uristat doesn't CURE anything. it just relieves the symptoms, but it can mask test results if you take the culture under 48-72 hours after taking it. Or if you took a yeast product, then it won't do anything for a bacterial infection, which needs antibiotics.

well if a culture was negative, could be your urine is just too acidic, try a few doses of alka seltzer about four hours apart, this will make the urine more alkaline and less likely to burn.
