yes...
1. open minsweeper then type "xyzzy" (without quotes)
2. then while holding down the button if you move your mouse across the minesweeper board and look at the upper right hand corner of your "monitor screen" there will be a 1x1 pixel dot of color that changes color as you move your mouse over a mine.
note: make sure the width of the viewable area of your screen isn't bigger than the actual screen (otherwise the dot will be hidden)

This Win XP cheat can be used to impress your friends with. Close all applications, then open Minesweeper, type xyzzy, then hold down the Shift key for a second. Now when you move your mouse over the cells, you will see either a white or black pixel in the top left of your desktop... white means no mine, black means mine (you might adjust your wallpaper to see this). Works like a charm.

-Move your cursor to the Window with Minesweeper
-Type in XYZZY then press SHIFT-ENTER then ENTER
A little white dot will come up to the upper-left hand corner of the screen. Watch it.
If you move your cursor over a mine, the dot will turn black.
So now you you know where the mines are.
If it is white, it is a safe square.

If you click both of the mouse buttons, it will either take away tiles for you or it will leave the tile in its spot. If it leaves the tile, there could possibly be a bomb. Check out the squares around it.
