I would always find them in my mom's closet, and i would unrap them, and then after I finished looking at them, I would wrap them again. But I think my mom caught on to what I was doing, and I could never really find them again. I think she used to proabably hide them in the attic because I would never go up there. did anyone else do that?

lol. Judy_Sweet, I'd probably die from anxiety if my mom locked my presents in her car when I was younger. It would just kill me not to know what I was getting.

I think that's a family tradition that has been handed down for ages. I have a house that has 4 levels to it (not including the attic). My kids right from day one found them. I always said they could smell them a mile away. So I had to get creative. Every couple of years I have to change my strategy because they catch on after a few times. For a couple of years I would put the least favorite cousins name on the things they wanted the most. I would laugh my tush off when I knew they were down there hunting around. They would come up huffing and puffing wanting to say something but couldn't for fear of giving themselves up for looking. Then I switched it up with their names. That pissed them off even more. As I said they finally caught on and I had to move on to more drastic measures. I've resorted to putting the DVD's and Playstation games into boxes that have clothes in them. That lasted a while and only created more problems because the two of them can't fold worth a damn. So now I've come up with a fool proof plan that they haven't figured out in about 2 years. I hide them under their beds!!!! They haven't looked under there for years. My kids are 17 and soon to be 19 and still they think their smarter than me,....until Christmas comes, then I reign supreme!!!!!

I did once: Before there was Rubik's cube, my older brother gave me a 7 piece puzzle that formed a cube. I for the life of me could not figure it out (when wrapped) and he told me it was a puzzle.
So, in a fit of desperation, I unwrapped it, looked at it, and rewrapped it. Now, I was in 2nd grade and a 2nd grader can't wrap anything worth a flip, so it was obvious what I had done. My brother was nice enough not to tell on me.
I never unwrapped another present in my life, after that.

Oh, did I ever! When I was alone I would snoop to find the hiding spots, but I never did .. A week before Christmas, they'd put a few that were from "Mom and Dad", and when they weren't looking I'd try to feel them and try to figure out what they were. But, they were too smart for me .. They put everything in a box. DANG.

Of course i did. My parents got smarter and would out them in a totally different box. So when we peeked, we would think we was getting something and actually got something else. I can remember one time I tried to peek and saw a phone box. I was so excited thinking I was getting a phone for my room. I opened it on Christmas and it was hot rollers in a phone box. LOL. It was so cool. I know do that to my stepkids and will to my daughter. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

LOL YES! My twin brother and I developed a whole system. My Mom caught on and wrapped them with tamper-proof tape and wrapping. We woke up at three in the morning and played with the air hockey table Santa had brought us.

my mom would hide them either in the back of her closet or one of my siblings' closets..but i always found them ^.^
...she didnt wrap anything until christmas eve at like 2 in the morning so i didn't have to worry about unwrapping, but sometimes i would sneak down while she was wrapping them and look..hah i was quite the spy. but then i wasnt surprised on christmas morning so i felt bad.

I didn't but I had a friend whose mom actually encouraged her to unwrap them weeks before Christmas and then rewrap them so she would be "surprised" on Christmas eve. I didn't understand the logic behind that at all.

I would find a spot on the package that wouldn't be so obvious and pull the wrapper off hoping it was enough to show the label.
