Equus, not Equis. Equus is the Latin word for horse. It's about a boy who's obsessed with horses, his violent mutilation of six of them, and his relationship to his psychiatrist. The movie is based on a play by Peter Shaffer.

I'd read the play first, then see the movie. The play is amazing, I saw it on Broadway a zillion years ago. Daniel Radcliffe was the most recent actor to play Alan.
