Do not listen to that lady. My youngest was born when I was 38. Other than developing Gestational Diabetes, I experienced few problems, but none were related to my age. She is now a perfectly fine and healthy 10 year old. Good friends of ours had their first baby when she was 40 and he was 41. 31 is still in the prime of baby-bearing years. You will not be high risk at 31 unless you have other medical issues. I know more couples than I can count who have had all their children while they were 30-something.

The lady is rude, inconsiderate and dumb. 31 is still very young. You are not considered at a higher risk until after 35 and many women after 35 have healthy babies. Just for some women it can be a little harder. However, women can have difficulty getting pregnant and having a healthy pregnancy at any age.

There is no cut off age for having a baby. As long as you are healthy and your doctor feels that you can have a healthy baby, it is no body's business what you do.

I am assuming that that stupid lady thinks girls that are coming up pregnant at ages 13/14/15/16 is perfectly fine too..

My mom is now 52 and she has my little sister when she was 43 and my little brother at 46.

They say the older a woman gets then the more chance of complicataions/risks to the baby/and even multiple babies (twins/tripletts)

31 is a perfect age to have a baby. good luck and don't pay any attention to that stupid remark by that moronic woman.

I say the cut off age should be when a woman hits menopause! :)

I don't think there is a certain age that is considered a cut-off age. Sure if the women is 50 or older, then I might think it is a little older to trying to have another baby... but if they feel fit then they should be able to have the baby. Technically more people are having kids in their 30s than in their 20s, so you are more of the norm ;)

Tell the teacher to mind her own damm business. 31 is totally age appropiate. My mom had my sister at 33. NO PROBLEMS.My auntie had her last at 32 NO PROBLEMS. many women have babies in their 30's with 0 problems. This woman obviously doesn't know what shes talking about. I myself don't wanna have any more after 30.(which I will be in 23 days.I just had my last, last year. But that is MY preference.Go and get your baby on girl!!!!!GOOD LUCK!

No 31 isn't too old to have a baby. that's perfectly fine.. she has no idea what she's talking about! lol. Actually a lot of people START trying for their first baby around their late 20's early 30's.

Wow... people are so rude!

There is NO cut off age for having a child, unless there is a medical issue. Don't let people try to get you down... they are just jealous because they have the same desire and (for whatever reason) they can not do anything about it.

The cut off would be when the mother doesn't feel like she could properly take care of a baby. More people are having kids older, so I wouldn't worry if you are healthy!!!
