I think that to varying degrees kids of all races want to act "cool" and make fun of the kids who are good students.
It's hard to put up with the peer pressure, when all the people who are popular are acting differently than you are.
Keep your eye on the ball. do the best you can in school and don't worry too much about the other kids.
Good luck!

Most of my Latino and black people who are struggling to get food, clothes and shelter in the hood are so concerned with that, that philosophising about freedom and socialist democracy is usually unfortunately beyond their rationale. They don't realize that America can't exist without separating them from their identity, because if we had some sense of who we really are, there's no way in hell we'd allow this country to push it's genocidal consensus on our homelands. This ignorance exists, but it can be destroyed.

I agreed with you. You just different because you was raised in good morals. People could live in the gettho but the character is the parents responsibility. This kids these days are influence by peers and bad lyric songs. Like songs that discriminate againts woman, hustling and killing each other is OK.

I agree.
People stereotype because of one or two people they've met who fit that category.
I'm Hispanic(I know I look white) and half the time I'm asked if I'm an immigrant or if I live off welfare or if all my cousins are "cholos".
Just because I'm Hispanic doesn't mean I'm stupid or that I'm in a gang.
but you can't change the people around you...so change yourself. Don't become another one of those people who fit that stereotype.
I'm proud of myself because I don't dumb myself down or I am not in a gang.
Prove to everyone that there ARE people who are not like the regular "black" or "Hispanic" or "white" person.

"...that are the reason that black people get the bad reputation" and "it's people like you that makes the black people like me ashamed" -
Three things. One, if someone non-Black can't look at you as an individual instead of a Black person then you don't have any business even THINKING or TALKING to or about that person. Don't do anything just to appease someone! Understand?
Two, Black people who "act ghetto" are NOT your responsibility. Therefore, you don't have any reason to be ashamed. It is their life and their choices, and they are the ones held responsible to what happens to them. Okay?
Just make sure you go to school every day, do very good work, don't associate with people you don't like, and succeed. That is all you have to do.
Three, people will sometimes try to be something they are not to try and fit in! No one wants to be ashamed of where they come from, so they convince themselves that they are just as good. And it is not fair to pin that type of behavior on people who are from high poverty areas. How rude! You sound like you don't like people who are poor, it is really none of your business. Especially since you are not doing anything about it mr/ms. 12 year old.
---
Oh, and to be 12 years old you sure do use bad language. You have some nerve to talk about people who live in "ghetto" areas and turn around and curse. See? No one is perfect! Get off your high horse because if you continue walking around with a chip on your shoulder you will get your feelings hurt...and it could be tomorrow, after school, at three o' clock, in the playground.

A lot of urban kids have no fathers and look for identity. They may join a gang to find it. They act ghetto because that's the code of the gang/hood life. Where else are they gonna go? After a while it becomes a safe haven that they are afraid to leave and will not listen to reason.

Okay i agree with you but before you point out the faults of other people, you should look at yourself. Your grammar isn't on point. But yes i agree that the actions of some can mess up the reputations of others. I feel that if you know who you are and how you are, forget everyone else.

I agree, you sound really upset. Be proud of what and who you are. Your not in the in crowd and that's OK but don't feed into their ignorance by talking about the way they dress,or act or the fact that they can't read. They don't know your situation and you don't know theirs. That could be the only thing that they have to make them shine.
Stay positive!

Good question! I believe that people who act like they're stupid (and proud of it) often make other members of their race look bad, whether it's black people who act "ghetto" or white people who act like "trailer park trash".
