Automatic for convenience but I sure love my cars with the stick. Um-hum.

I used to prefer stick because of the having-more-control thing. After driving an automatic for a long time, though, I learned that there are actually a set of more subtle "tricks" a driver can do to dramatically increase the degree of control in an automatic too.
I think you have to have driven for quite a while, though, because the "collection of things" a driver of an automatic can do are very varied, very subtle, and sometimes require a little extra skill in handling the car, itself,

I never quite became proficient at driving a stick, throw in San Francisco hills and forget it! I would go through a clutch a month. I love my automatic, all I have to concentrate on (other than driving of course) is what music to play.

For a sporty car I definitely prefer stick, but in stop and go traffic automatic is definitely easier to drive. I choose which of our two vehicles to drive, depending on where I'm heading out to.

They say automatic is for lazy people, but I have drove a stick, and I just like the automatic better.

stick. you have more control and can get the most power out of the car. With automatic your relying on what the computer thinks the car should do.

Autoshift "Slapshift":
Give the ease of an automatic but you can drop the control into a second channel and all you have to do is hit it up or down for your gear.
