What about them? What specifically did you need information on? Are you looking for things such as women not being allowed to own property? Or not being allowed to vote?

I found that there was always a few woman despite the 'historical barriers' that were able to move up in the world, get education and the like if they worked hard enough and were strong enough to deal with the negatives.

I wouldn't called them historic barriers, I'd call them historic common freaking sense.

It depends on what you mean, but at one point in time women were not treated as equals and were not considered humans and were expected to stay at home.
