They are going to put leads on your chest, arms and legs. Leads are little sticky pads that read your heart. You will have to open your shirt down the middle to expose your sternum and take off your bra. To feel less uncomfortable about the whole thing wear a button up shirt and see if they will let you keep it on during the procedure. It is quick and causes no pain and only takes a few seconds.
Oh, and by the way, make sure to shave your legs!

They will place some sticky pads on your chest, arms and legs that has wires. This measures the electrical impulses that your heart puts out. It's not painful and only takes a few minutes. Tell the person doing the test about the skipped beats and breathing. Also wear a sports bra and they my not have to undress you all the way. You could ask the technologist if you could leave it on.

It sounds like you have a heart murmer. (which is an extra beat).
an EKG does not hurt you will have 10 wires hooked to you.
1 on each arm
1 on each leg
1 on the left side of your chest
7 on the right side of your chest
It does not hurt you will lie down as it is being done.
a print out will show how your heart is beating for the doctor to look at.
hope this helped

An electrocardiogram, also called an EKG or ECG, is a simple test that detects and records the electrical activity of the heart. It is used to detect and locate the source of heart problems.

Just relax. You will have some sensors (electrodes) attached to your chest and some electronics will record your heart beat as a diagram. No hurt, no pain. By the way, extra heart beats (systoles) are not unusual, but they will tell you more after your test.

There's nothing to be scared about. You'll be hooked up to wires that will read your heart rythm and beat. I have the same thing when at times my heart does extra pumps and it feels like there's a butterfly in my chest. I have been told there is no alarm for concerns.

You will have a bunch of little patches attached to your chest in different locations. They are sticky back and have a nipple on them that an electrode will be hooked up too. They don't hurt and you don't have anything to worry about. They will monitor your heartbeat and can find the irregularities through the printout and readings they get. I have one done every year.
Good Luck!

Its nothing they just put some taps on you and let you sit and breathe and stuff. So its just that the tabs take your heart beat and stuff. Its no big deal. I have had it before and its nothing.
Just breathe normally and thats fine. so its all good

They'll attach 12 leads to your body. Some go on the legs, arms, and most around the heart area. It only takes a second, but you have to stay really still. Its a little uncomfortable if you are a girl, since the leads go around the breast area. it's no big deal, stay calm.

it's very very simple. they put little stickers all over your chest and abdomen and then connect little plastic things to the stickers. then you sit still and breathe normal for about a minute and then it's over. easy easy.
