The simple fact is that just downloading the songs doesn't convey the essence of Pink Floyd.

The "Dark Side Of The Moon" album is designed to be an alternative soundtrack to the Wizard of Oz. The song "The Great Gig In The Sky" actually gets speeded up at the end of the original Side 1 of the album, to synchronize the movie with the Oz "soundtrack". You just can't get this experience or meaning with the simple downloading of individual songs like "Money" or "Breathe".

"The Wall" is the first album of ANY artist I ever bought. It is a story of a man trying to face his fears. Again, the album must be played through at one take to get the idea of the artists' view. Just listening to "Comfortably Numb" and "Young Lust" a few times isn't the idea of this artfully-minded band. Get the CDs for these albums and you'll see why.

If you are insistent on downloading a few singles, get the single version of "Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2". It is actually unedited at the start compared to the album version. Also valuable is the video for Roger Waters' version of The Wall from Berlin, 1990. Guest artists do the entire Wall album live. For example, the Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2 hit is done convincingly by Cyndi Lauper, while the Scorpions, Bryan Adams and Sinead O'Connor all have great performances. Paul Carrack does "Hey You" with Roger Waters' Bleeding Heart band like it will never be done again.
