The learning curve on snowboards is really quick. You can be up and doing well in just a few days and some people, (generally with surfing back ground) can be flying in a day. Be aware that your skis are never going to be used again. I know many people that have gone from skiing to snow boarding and none that have gone from snow boarding to skiing. You can just get in more places on the snow board. Tighter shutes etc. You'll love it!

I am swiss, I live in different Skistations for years now, and I know plenty of peopeles they get back to skis after years on a snowboard...
To your Question.... Some peopeles have a hard time on the first two, three days on a snowboard, but as usually this are peopeles they didnt ski before, if you allready know to use the edges, have a good feeling for your balance, then you learn quickli how to turn and so on and you will have good fun on a snowboard

It isn't hard to learn - most are on intermediate runs and doing basic tricks their first season.

It is hard to master - which is the beauty of snowboarding. You may be able to make it down a run easily, then you try it "switch" and have to learn it again. Then you learn carving (no sliding / riding the edge) and you get to master the run again. Snowboarding stays fun even if you keep going to the same resort and runs because you can improve your skills for years.

Good Luck
