I was on Clomid and Metformin both for 7 months before finally ovulating. What made the difference for me was cutting out all sugar and caffeine from my diet. I ovulated the exact same cycle that I did that.
Some women are resistant to Clomid and it takes a while, if you ever even ovulate at all. An alternative med would be Femara (usually used to treat some forms of breast cancer, but has also been found to cause ovulation). If neither of those meds work, injections of Pergonal, etc. would be your next step toward ovulation induction.

Most docs allow 3-6 cycles of clomid (sometimes more) before moving on to a more successful form of fertility treatment.

My sister got pregnant with both her sons after one month of clomid. Usually Dr's will try 3 cycles maybe more before trying something else.

Conceived my oldest after 2nd "round" of clomid. Low progesterone levels. Then had NO problem conceiving 2nd time. Had fraternal twins as a matter of fact..... without any clomid, etc.... Found out later, that that happens alot.

some woman can concieve during the 1st mth of using this drug however for other woman it may be 2,3,4,5 or 6 mths.
And again some woman have no success at all with clomid

it was said its best to work for the 1st 3 months but it shouldn't be taken for more then 6 months,
