got a call from the school nurse this afternoon. They wanted me to pick my son up from school because he had started his period and had quite a big stain on his pants.
When the nurse first called me I thought it was a joke. I had never heard of a male having a period before. The nurse informed me that it is quite common for young men to have their periods for a few years and then stop.
My son was so embarassed. He said that many of the students in his class had seen his period stain and was picking at him about his new uncle flo. He says that he never wants to go back to school again.
How can I convince my son not to be embarassed about starting his period? Help please

There are a couple of guys that i work with whom I often suspect that they are having their period!
I keep a big bottle of Midol in my purse & offer it up quite frequently.......

Just talk him through it he will get over it. I went through the same thing when I was 13. He may get it a few more times just make sure you give him extra underwear when he goes to school. Good Luck
