Does anyone remember when Republicans believed that America was a 'shining city on top of a hill' that led by example and shunned nations that tortured their captives?

I thought that the Democrats were going to remember that duty when they took office last January but they are still not fighting the Bush administration hard enough. And Zell Miller is a nut.

Those days have never left. Where have you been? Just because someone dosen't happen to agree with your narrow mind doesn't make them somehow unwilling to fight for freedom. I know you are lonely there in your sand filled fox hole in Iraq (Oh you're not in Iraq? You must be a hypocrite then) because you seem to know all about what is going on. You are also psychic as you can know what is in the minds of each and every Democrat in America. Wow what powers you have! I am impressed (not). People, not just Democrats, are increasingly opposed to that mess in the Middle East. Bush has opened a Pandora's Box and can't get it closed. It gets worse and worse and you blame Democrats? Had we concentrated on Bin Laden, Al Qaeda and the Taliban you would see far less dissent amongst American people but because the war in Iraq was predicated on missinformation not verified (because they didn't want it verified for convienience to get Saddam) somehow the ubercons seem to think people are against freedom and for tyranny. Well it is just the opposite. Taking out soverign nations who do you no harm is hardly democratic but reeks of tyranny. Look at the Bush Administration and compare it to Ur Fascism and then tell me about how Democrats are opposed to freedom fighting and how the Bushies aren't full of support for tyranny.

Read very carefully and compare. It is uncanny the resemblence.

dizzying spin job...and Zell Miller can't remember his name let alone much else, he's a crazy old fool. America supports tyrants, dictators etc. as long as they toe the US corporate line. What cave have you been in for the last 45 years? Wake up Rip Van Winkle

No. Zell is just another closet fascist.
Crazy Zell is just another D I N O, as is Lieberman.
I would never claim him as a Democrat.
In his formative years, during the days of Southern Segregation, Zell was more respresentative of what Democrats were back then. There was a time when a lot of Democrats were in the KKK . These days he is in his own special place in the party.

What has that got to do with anything?
Do you think the Iraq war is a battle over freedom? If so then why aren't we fighting Sudan? Can the U.S. afford to be the police of the world?
Your question is completely wrong. Maybe you need to rethink your beliefs if you can. At the very least, question them and learn to think for yourself.

we all do but we pick our battles more wisely
These days, conservatives only seem to believe it is the duty of America to fight for freedom over tyranny when OIL is involved
Darfur, for instance, goes completely unnoticed

Hey, thanks for that.
Also, if you're interested in "fighting for freedom over tyranny" I suggest you high-tail it on up to Washington, D.C.
