Personally I don't care for it...sounds more like a nickname....

But if that is what she want's to name her child, then it is her God-Given right.....So I wouldn't tell her what to do....but I would let her know your opinion of the name....Don't be hateful or rude about, maybe just mention the possinlity of her being teased about it, and maybe suggest some other names.

If she is intent on the name, then tell her that you are ok with it as long as she is, and that you are happy for her....I wouldn't risk hurting a friendship over hte name of a child....

I agree it's adorable as a nickname, but as a given name, no, it's not really appropriate. It could be a nick name for just about any given name, since it would mean tiny, or small, but would be especially cute with a "P" name like Patricia, Patrice. I suppose if she felt strongly enough about it as a first name, and gave the child a more conservative middle name:
like Pixie Rose, Pixie Colleen, or Pixie Martina, down the road the middle name could become "the name of choice" for the girl if she so desired.

lol for the sake of her unborn baby, please please please steer her away from Pixie! These kinds of things only work when the parents are either celebrities or generally insane.

It might be a cute nickname, but definitely not as a given name! What about the name Patricia? Or Penelope? She could use a P first name and then a middle name that sounds similar to -ixie, like Penelope Trixie or something. Or what about using Pixie as the middle name? Somewhere hidden away so the kid doesn't have any sort of parental issue growing up lol.

Good luck and congrats to your friend anyway lol.

Is she a Tinkerbell fan?
Some people get confuse with cute nicknames to call their children and names
I call my daughter Halo, short for Hayley
I saw a question about naming a girl Halo. Cute nickname, but not name.
Pixie will be a good nickname for a child

Pixie's only possible future involves a stripper pole. if i ever met a "Pixie" my first thought would be if the mother was on drugs at the time she was named. it reflects badly on the parents for choosing such a ridiculous name.
"Pixie" belongs on a dog collar, not a birth certificate.

My grandma has a Pomeranian named Pixie. It's a cute little dog. However, I don't think it's a cute name for a human girl.

Don't like Pixie except for a nickname...not good for junior high!

How about if she gives the baby a solid name like
Patricia Erin and nicknames her Pixie.

Patricia Irene
Pricilla Erin

Pixie is no worse than Trixie. It's not your baby to name.
It's not exactly Bambi is it? And has to be better that the
aden names.

Pixie is an adorable nickname, but it isn't a given name! It sounds very childish, and won't age well. Can you imagine Dr. Pixie Jones doing your open heart surgery? I can't.

Why don't you suggest:

Penelope
Paloma
Paige
Petra
Piper
Pia

Pixie seems like it would be a cute little nickname, but I'm not sure about a formal name. Her last name isn't Dust, is it? :-)
