You can do all those things if you want to but your baby will come when it's ready. 37 1/2 weeks is considered full-term, if your baby's ready it could come anytime now even if you don't do those things. But if it's not ready, you can do all those things and it will just be a waste of your time.

Unfortunately there is no reliable way to induce labor before the baby and your body are ready. Even medically induced labors do not always work. All 4 of my children were born past their due dates. With my first, she was 9 days late and I tried lots of suggestions such as having sex, eating spicy food, walking, driving down bumpy dirt roads, nipple stimulation, scrubbing floors on my hands and knees. Obviously she was eventually born, but I didn't go into labor immediately after doing any of these things. The morning before she was born, our dog got loose and I walked all around our neighborhood looking for her. The baby wasn't born until the next evening and, truthfully, I think I would probably have gone into labor even if I hadn't walked at all. If there was something that worked all the time to start labor, I don't think there would be anyone waiting the full 40 weeks to have their baby. Most moms-to-be get pretty tired of being pregnant that last month and would just like it all to be over as quick as possible. You can try all the suggestions, but be careful as some can be potentially dangerous. In the long run, it is better to just wait for your baby to be ready.

Unfortunately nothing will work if your body and baby are not ready for labor to happen. The sex and nipple stimulation are both things that can help due to the fact that both have hormones involved....sperm will help ripen your cervix so it opens easier and nipple stimulation releases oxytocin which is the hormone that triggers labor. Again only will work if labor is ready to begin.
As for having a membrane sweep without a doctor can be very dangerous even if the person you have do it is wearing sterile gloves. Also the only way to do that is if you are already dialated enough for them to be able to get a finger inside your uterus to do that. It's a bad idea since that introduces bacteria into the uterus which can kill the baby if infection sets in and can make you seriously ill and even make it so your fertility is damaged.

First of all, 37 wks is WAY too early to even be trying to bring on labor. I know how tempting it is though trust me, I'm hanging on by a thread myself! Also, all the "home remedies" to induce labor will do NOTHING if your body isn't already ready to go into labor. It's more of a help push you over the edge thing. it's not an actual "labor inducer". If it CAN induce labor at home, then likely it's too dangerous to do. Like the membrane sweep. At 37wks I doubt you are even open enough to do it, but even if you were, you shouldn't be messing around with that. First of all, you are risking indroducing bacteria to the womb and trust me, an infe4cted uterus is the worst pain on the face of the earth. Think of the most horrific pain of your life and then multiply it a few times. It's worse than a fast labor with no drugs and it's even worse than having multiple disks blow out in your back at the same time. Just don't risk it!! Also, if you are lucky enough NOT to get an infection, there's still a HUGE risk of you rupturing your bag of waters. If you do that and you have group B strep then you're baby could get a serious infection and die. Also, if you rupture your bag of waters, and you DON'T start into labor, you will have to have a Csection within 12hrs if you aren't group b pos. They won't even give you that time if you have it, because there's not enough time to give you the antibiotics in labor. I KNOW it's tough and you really want it over with, but you've come this far, you don't want to risk the life or health of your baby so you can feel better quicker. Just ride it out. It's what, less than 3wks in most cases. You can wait that long.

I actual have been to atleast 3 ultrasounds contained in the previous month and yet another the following day, they're estimating him to be an exceedingly super infant, and because i'm a common time mom they're inducing me a week early. that could be the twenty 2nd. they're estimating him to be on the least ninety one/2 lbs if i pass the entire 40. yet many human beings say countless issues approximately organic induction, regardless of if it extremely is going to in common terms ensue whilst your physique is waiting. Dont tension something, that infant will come quickly adequate! Congrats.

UUUMMM??? Why would you want to do something as important as sweeping your membranes if your doctor isn't willing? There are reasons NOT to try to go into labor as early as you are in pregnancy. I went into labor and they tried to stop mine at that exact stage. They were afraid the baby's lungs wouldn't be fully developed. If you want to try inducing labor check out this website. Good Luck.

do what bunnies do best. I pulled up 4 apple trees and a bunch of bamboo trying to enduce myself with my second. It was about 2 days later, and i went into labor. My mom did yard work to have me, only she filled up a wheelbarrel and moved rocks.
Find a friend who is a midwife or nurse to sweep your membranes. A friend of mine did this for another friend. Or, like i did, go to the doc and tell her to make you bleed. I did that twice. Tell her to make you cry, (she didnt really) and that will get your point across.
