Yes I have, my sister when she was having my nephew was the most amazing experience, first you could hear him on the monotor then before you know it he was born I even got to cut the cord so it was a very special moment for me!

As salaamu 'alaikym, my friend.

Insha'Allah, yes! I was with my wife (from whom I am now divorced) when she gave birth to our daughter.

Insha'Allah, one of the only things I was not aware of was the "crowning" (i.e., when the baby enters the birthing cancal and the top of the child's head briefly shows before the child regresses, momentarily, etc.) I had mistakenly thought that the worst was just about over and was trying to reassure my then wife.

Insha'Allah, I cut the umbilical cord and I was also the first person to change my daughter's diapers.

Insha'Allah, another aspect of the birth that I was not aware of what the "cutting" of my wife so as to allow her to open up a bit more without tearing. When the midwife made the cut I almost slugged her.

I am thankful for what my then wife must have endured (she delivered without any pain killers!) so as to give me my wonderful daughter. Alhumdulillah! Insha'Allah, surely such is one the many reasons why the Prophet Muhammad (sallaahu 'alaihi wa sallaam) has taught us to repect, honor and love our mothers, as well as to honor, respect and love our wives. Alhumdulillah!

Since our divorce and a lengthy custody dispute of five and one half years, my daughter resides with me and has visitations with her mother on a regular basis. Alhumdulillah!

Ma'a salaam.

Nope, I tried to once (a very long time ago) when my mom was giving birth to my brother, but I got kicked out--nicely, of course.

I watched my daughter-in-law give birth to my grandson. I got to hold him when he was only a few minutes old.
