He could be but J.K. Rowling probably said that just to make people talk about the books more. If he is he only has three possibilities: 1. Grindelwald, 2. Moody, and 3. Remus Lupin (Shocked at his deatha nd wasn't interested in Tonks till after Dumbledore dies)

Once again;

JKR - Created Dumbledore as a fictional character in her books
JKR - Said Dumbledore is gay.

Simple as. :)

I think maybe she made him gay to express her liberal views, or maybe just because that's what happens in real-life. People are gay. Hell, half the male students at Hogwarts probably like wand too much for their own good. ;P

Speaking of hard lengths of wood, has anyone seen Equus yet? I hear it's good. :)

In watching the movies it had never occurred to me he was Gay. Since the author says he is, then I guess he is, but it doesn't change my opinon on the character and I don't really feel like it adds another dimension to the character. Although the next time I watch one of the movies I will look for any indicators such as something said or implied, etc.

well if the author says he is gay then he obviously is because she made him up she knows if he is gay or not.
She' s the only person who can make him gay or not and if you read the books back it's kind of obvious once you know

The author, J.K. Rowling, has just declared him gay. She's the final authority-- that's why they call her an author. So, yes, definitely.

I don't care. What I find disturbing is grown adults reading 800 page books about magical little boys and then wanting to talk to me about it.

Yes, I think he is, because the author (his creator) says he is.

As to why; the cynic in me thinks that she said that just to gain publicity and sell more books...
