It still exists. I was denied receiving my job back after returning from maternity leave. I was told I could have a part time position instead of my full time. I was also bypassed for a bartending position (I had over 6 years experience) for a man with no bartending experience.
My husband usually cooks dinner, though.

to me, there is still enough sexism here to make it difficult for me. I am not a wife yet, but if i ever to get married and my husband expects me to work, clean, take care of the kids, cook, and still have plenty of energy for anything else he wants, there will be hell to pay...
NO women can do eveything herself, thats why we like going to spa's to relax, and take care of ourselves since so many of us put up with conrtolling and abusive boyfriends/husbands/significant others.
All i ask is for help, and if thats too much for him to do, then he can scronge around in the fridge him self...But i am very indepent, and besides kids, i figure everyone should be so they cant blame anyone when they mess it up...But that is just one woman's opinion..
BY the way, y r u asking wht time the wife has dinner done, it could be the husband who cooks...to me, it is tad on the sexist side for my feeling to handle...

1. it depends on which part of the country you live in (small town people tend to be more traditional than big city people).
2. Not married, but my sisters husband usually makes it or orders it by 6 when she comes home from work. When they are both home he cooks because he thinks she is a bad cook( she fakes it).

Yes, there seems to be sexism right here. "What time does your wife have dinner ready" If I was your wife you'd be doing a lot of cooking or eating fast food because you my dear are a sexist!

Little. In fact, American culture needs to move in the direction of finding postive and realistic views of gender differences, rather than denying them.
We both love to cook. But, our busy and unpredictable schedules preclude our dining at a regular hour, in any case.

Go to any evolved country and you will be shocked. Not one man has stared at my boobs when I speak. No one has called me little lady. And my husbands friends don't tell him that he should "keep me in line" Heavenly.
As for your second question, what a dick.

A fair amount, women still make less on the dollar than men do and they have the 'second shift' at home.

A lot. But what do you expect? Men just don't add up.
My husband will starve if he waits on me to cook. It's a good prompt for him to get up and do it himself.
