over 40 times due to threatened bombings of abortion clinics and another man from his group is in jail for life due to actually caring out such attack. How pissed would you be if you found out that your tuition money is going to this man to come preach his ridiculous propaganda? I'm pretty pissed.

I go to Virginia Commonwealth University, which is actually a very LIBERAL school, there was a huge protest at the event, but I feel like thats not enough.

Time to get active, kiddo. Get your parents and your friends' parents to call and/or write. Print up flyers if you can. Call the local newspaper. That's BS. I wish I could help more.

I do not agree with the speaker's position, but I do think it's important to hear all sides of an argument--if you are only listening to yourself and others like you, you are not going to develop the critical thinking skills necessary to be a contributing citizen. Your tuition money only covers a portion of the actual cost to educate you, so the money for this presentation is probably coming from somewhere else.

I would attend, listen politely, then ask some very well-thought out questions that will make him really consider his position. I find people who picket abortion/family planning clinics abhorent, since they go far beyond "free speech" in that they harrass and abuse clients who go to the clinic for services. They don't know these people's backgrounds, and have no right to harrass them. If they stood quietly across the street and held signs that would be one thing, but that is NOT their purpose (free speech); their purpose is to prevent the lawful movement of another person--that is not constitutionally protected speech or activity.

Whats this guys name? I would not think an american university would bring in anyone who had a view that would be opposed to abortion on demand. Of course if he is a criminal who has been arrested over 40 times and is a complete nut job then I can see the university bringing him in to present a fair and balanced argument.

I'd be furious! What school is this, if you don't mind me asking? I know some school's have some pretty outlandish ideas when it comes to political teachings, but that's over-the-top. I don't think anti-abortion beliefs should be preached on students, it's offensive and bad ethics. Furthermore, a MAN should NOT be preaching to any woman about what she should do with her body. I'm a pretty unshakable person when it comes to most things I hear--it takes a LOT to offend me, but I am officially outraged.
