Most of the people who answered this question appear to be Caucasion ( Absolutely nothing wrong with that) so u are getting a lot of similiar answers. Naming a Coffee shop Beaners is 100% inappropriate. That is term used to degrade an entire Race of people and they have a coffee shop named after it. I am actually from MI and I can tell you this, When the owners named it that, the thought did cross their minds that it could be misinterpreted yet they chose to name it that anyway so that speaks loudly about the owners views...

I can't say, I have never heard the term before. We don't have coffee shops, where I am called Beaner's. Starbucks, and Seven Eleven's, and some gas stations of course grocery stores, sell coffee to go.

No, I don't think it's racist to have a coffee shop named beaners. Haven't you ever heard of the restaurant-and-store chain named Cracker Barrel?

No, I don't think it is racist and I'm glad you asked. It is better to ask than go around and make assumptions.

(sigh) zell give the girl a break.

Is beanners a racist term toward Mexicans? If so, I was not aware.

---

Well, then yes it is offensive. If someone were to name their business "Special Coons" ... I wouldn't like that.

I am black and that would be the same as having a blackeys coffee hut. I mean one could get away with saying that but I know that it would be enough to start flash in on the owners, local zoning board .

It's only racist if they are not using beens to make their coffee. Maybe we should try to quit looking for problems when there are already so many left unsolved.

"Beaners" is not racist to the coffee shop owners. It MAY be offensive to them but NOT racist at all!

Calling it racist is silly.

It is not racist. Get a life and stop worrying about trivial little things. Learn to spell or at least use the spell check that is provided.
