Okay...first of all...Florida and Florida State is not the 'big' rivalry. In fact, Florida State's biggest rival is Miami...not Florida. And Florida's biggest rival is Georgia or Tennessee or Alabama or LSU....it's not Florida State.
As far as pure college football goes....it's Army-Navy. No one in today's generation thinks that because they can't get the top athletes anymore (college superstars don't even wanna give 4 years to school...much less additional years to military service) but that has the greatest tradition of all rivalries.
Then we have Michigan vs Ohio State .... specifically during the Schembechler-Woody Hayes rivalry.
Texas-OU has a great tradition dating back to Barry Switzer vs Darrel Royal.
And often overlooked is small school rivalries....Grambling vs Southern is a great rivalry that doesn't get the attention of a Florida State vs Miami because they aren't Division 1.
But Florida vs Florida State?
That's wayyyy down the list!

Army v Navy is big and has been around as long as college football has. If you go to any school in the country there will be people that dont go to the games. For Army v Navy the entire student body is in the stands.
Other honorable mentions:
Ohio State v Michigan
Oklahoma v Texas
Auburn v Alabama
Miami v Florida State

this is between the appropriate 5 yet Auburn vs. Bama is selection one through fact it extremely is an in-state opposition and the hatred between the communities runs deep. this is all they communicate approximately interior the State of Alabama. unlike many different areas with expert franchises college soccer is it in Alabama. Gee I have been given a destructive vote through fact i did no longer say the pink River rilvalry replaced into the perfect. attempt this on in that if available an Auburn fan will purchase a Bama season fee ticket just to get that one fee ticket to the Iron Bowl while it extremely is performed faraway from abode and vice versa for the Bama followers. it relatively is how confusing the tickets are again via.

With regard to tradition, Army vs. Navy. Other teams would be Ohio St vs. Michigan and most state rivalries. As far as pure hatred then it's Auburn vs. Bama.

Ohio St. vs. Michigan is huge due to the fact they meet at the end of the season and there are usually bowl game implications involved in the outcome.
Army vs. Navy is huge in it's own special way.

Most of the posters are correct:
Michigan vs. Ohio State
Been watching it since I was wee lad ... lived in Hawaii and we never missed it.
USC vs. UCLA was also on the same day and never missed that one. But it doesn't have the same meaning as Michigan/Ohio State.
Go Blue!
