NO NO NO and NO!!!

I have worked for many many years in customer service. I'll give you a couple of examples.

1. I used to work at the cable company. And grant it the cable company is just out to f you, you spend just waaay too much money. But still. This one time I had a guy call because they accidentally shut his cable for 2 hours while they were working outside on his street. Well he was demanding 1 month free cable for his "inconvenience". And get this he wasn't even at home when the cable was out so he didn't miss out on 2 hours of cable. Eventually one of my supervisors gave in and gave him 1 week credit.

2. Just last week, (I work for a police dept) and there is a fee for each copy of reports, mostly accidents. So this truck driving company owner calls for a report for an accident one of his drivers had. He did not want to pay the $6 because he "was the victim" and it was wrong for us to charge him.
HE WASN'T EVEN IN THE CAR!!! HOW WAS HE THE VICTIM?????

My heart goes out to all of you that are CSR'S, cashiers, retailers, waiters/waitresses, etc. God bless you. But remember arguing with the customer makes you just as stupid as them. Making THEM look stupid is PRICELESS.

No. No one is always right. Not even me. That's just a phrase supervisors use to let you know how much you are NOT suppose to argue with a customer. I would never use that phrase either if andwhen I am a customer. It really makes you sound stupid.

No. There are times when what the customer wants just isn't worth it. You are in business to make money, not to generate good will, and if a customer costs more than you make, he is wrong.

HELL NO!!!!! I get into arguments with customers at my job all the time (which will undoubtedly soon get me well fired) that lets me prove to them that most of the time they're absolutely WRONG!!!!! Just don't tell that to my managers.
