I know I should consult a doctor, but I'm looking for possiblities. I'm 45, had both tubes removed years ago, low back pain, low intermitant abdominal cramping for 4 days, nausea without vomiting, and 3 weeks late .

Oh, my dear ... you have 'only just begun' to 'have problems' with your 'periods.' What you are experiencing is one of the many 'symptoms' you can have with 'perimenopause' ... the period BEFORE your periods 'stop totally for a full year' (FULL menopause). Yes, you should see your doctor, because you could also have another disease or physical problem (like hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, or even ovarian or cervical cancer) ... but from your 'description' (yes, even the 'nausea without vomiting') sounds like 'perimenopause' to me.

could be Peri-menopause symptoms. See your doctor anyway. Peri-Menopause can last for years before you hit full blown menopause (which by the way means you haven't had a period for at least a year).
Ive had your symptoms for about 5 years now except my tubes are still intact.
Sometimes my period is not only late but skips a few months.
Sounds to me like your journey with this is just beginning.
..... sorry I have to go. This is giving me a hot flash.

There are a few different things this could be. Yes unfortunately, it could be pre-menopausal symptoms, however on the bright side, these symptoms can start SEVERAL years before menopause actually begins.
Another thing it could be your thyroid. The symptoms for thyroid conditions and pre-menopause (as well as pregnancy) are all pretty much the same.
A simple blood test can determine if the problems you are having have anything to do with the above mentioned conditions.
As someone with issues in that department as well, I wish you good luck on finding out the problem and most of all, GOOD HEALTH.

It could be the start of menopause. Some women experience all of the same symptoms of being pregnant and/or regular pms when showing early signs of menopause.

I know you're young for that but it might be the beginning of the menopause,
My next question would be, there's no way you're having an extra uterinous pregnancy? (My mother had after her tubes were removed).
Feel better!
