I have heard that belly button piercing is the most painful piercing to get. I have also heard that it is the type that becomes infected the most easily. That being said, NO WAY! Don't do it! Go to a professional, or gosh, maybe be an individual and don't do it at all. I know you want to be like everyone else, but really, it's overrated.

i highly recommend NOT to do it yourself. it is very VERY dangerous, and if you used a dirty needle (i know that you would clean it, but there is always a chance) and although i have never had mine done, i have heard that they use a curved needle...i could be totally wrong tho. but seriously, don't take the chance.
and what i don't get, is that you would be more comfortable doing it yourself...which means you would be embarrased to get it done by someone else. normally once you get your belly button pierced, then you show it off. so whats the difference btw getting done by 1 person, then showing it off to tons of other people?? just a lil question.

You could hit an artery, or vein.
You could get a massive infection, worst case scenerio- AIDS/HIV.
Look, if you go to a professional it's not uncomfortable at all.
I went to a tatoo parlor, and this Biiigggg guy with a mohawk came out, and I was like, "H'omg. No.", at first.
They're VERY nice people, they sterilize their equipment, sterilize your belly button, and tell you the appropriate way to take care of it.
It's MUCH safer.

I really would suggest that you not pierce your own belly button. Not a good idea. If you want to get it done, go to a professional place, emphasis on the professional. Make sure that the place you go has a good reputation and isn't like in someone's basement.

You should NEVER do any piercing yourself at home! My husband is certified to do these things, and I have read some of the things that can happen if not properly done and items aren't sterilized properly.
I have had mine done twice now, and it wasn't exactly a pleasure to have done there was a minimal amount of pain involved, and you do have to take certain measures for caring for it as well.
If your parents are willing to let you do this they can then take you and have it done.

*pierce And no this is a terrible concept! have self assurance me, I had a chum doing it to me, we spent 3 hours and the needle under no circumstances went by, it grew to become into painful! looking on your abdomen button, particular aspects are "solid" to be pierced and others are not. you're able to desire to get verify by a consultant to understand precisely the place. And the exterior at your abdomen is verry thick, whilst in comparison with something of your physique. So i could advise to no longer pierce your self. Get it accomplished immediately, exact and effectively by a consultant.

NO and not for the reasons of regret but because having this done by anybody but a professional is very very dangerous...you could hit an artery, or catch a deadly infection..

No. You don't know what you are doing first of all and second of all, you are 14. You are way too young to get a piercing. It does not matter what everyone else does. When you get older and if you still want it get it then. No rush.

Do you have the right sterile eqipment? I wouldn't though without going to a pro. You'll need parental consent. Why get it anyway. Don't you like who you are? Or would you feel better being like everyone else? Copycat.
