His only issue will be staying healthy, but if he doesn't suffer a career ending injury he will rewrite the the record books. Now the Vikings just need a QB and they might make it back to the playoffs.

No kidding! I don't know if I would call him the best ever just yet.. ask me that in a couple years.. but he is incredible right now. He's such a great player and he's a really humble guy too. You can tell he'll be known for playing good football and keeping his nose clean.
You're right! All the Vikings need now is a Quarterback and I'll cheer for them again.. I think the Vikings are getting better and once we get a good QB I bet we could possibly make it to the playoffs.. let's try for next season!! :)

Like the commentators said during the game; AP is not afraid to get airborne. But they were saying that to praise him.

But in reality; this is especially bad for his long term prospects. Risk of injuries coming down from the air is incredibly high for any player. A missed jump, wrong landing, is all it takes to be a career ender. Or perhaps he might take an injury that can be recoverable; but that you never quite play the same after -- like Shaun Alexander's injury.

But also. You are looking at a game against San Diego -- I know everyone says they are a "good" team. but that is just a carryover impression from last year. It should be plainly evident to all by now that they aren't so good anymore; outside of cromartie and Scifres, they looked like a bunch of amateurs out there. Certainly credit the vikings to a large extent for that; but objectively, one has to only look at the Chargers record to see that the only teams they have beaten this year were loser teams. Denver, Houston, Oakland, and Chicago. The Chargers are playing like a team without a coach. Which is kind of what they are with Norv.

Adrian is a beast and has most definitely played better than any other of the top draft picks. However, it is way to early to put him in the Hall. He runs straight up but he also gets down, lowers his shoulder and dishes out some pain as well. He is definitely the rookie of the year at this point in the season but it is way to early to be talking about him being one of the best of all time. Wait about 5 or 10 years and see how he is playing.

look up Terrel Davis. Came into the NFL and rushed for 2000 yards with Denver. Career only lasted three years. Most people don't even know who he is now. There has been many backs with success like his that is just an average back now.
Rickey Williams
Corey Dillon
Quentin Griffin (one game only)
Jamel Lewis.
these are just some of recent years. The list could go one.
He is a great back but don't write him into the Hall of Fame yet.

The Vikes need two QB's, a better pass-blocking group on the right side of the line, two better pass rushers, a first-round draft cover corner, and safety help for Darren Sharper.

He's only 8 games into his career and talking about 'best'?!? Ever heard of Jim Brown, Emmit Smith, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders and so on? Wait a few years before making such a dumba$$ comment like that. 8 games and YOU thing he's the best of all time. Talk about reaching.

...how about we wait another season first...

Kevin Jones lead the league in rushing the second half of his rookie season when the Lions actually began starting him. He's been decent, but not great since. Adrian Peterson is in all likeliness way better, but at least wait until next season to start asking these ridiculous questions.

No, I dont believe he can get away like Barry Sanders did, breaking tackles, jukeing the defence greatly etc..., Adrian Peterson right now has a better O-Line than Barry did basically his whole career.

YUP, he will be "OFF" all time if he gets hurt. But, with a QB and the AD, the Vikes may have a chance!

Don't jinx him.

Jamal Lewis set this record not 5 years ago on his way to a 2k plus rushing season but no one is crowning him the best of all time.

just enjoy Peterson for now and start the greatest of all time talk in about 10 years..
