feet swelling is a sign of pre-eclampsia but is also a normal sign of pregnancy as well. A better indicator is sudden puffiness in the face, sudden severe headache, any dizzy spells or fuzzy vision. If your feet swelled up suddenly bad enough that you can't get your shoes on then I'd be concerned, if it's been fairly gradual with just a bit of the tingles then it's likely to be normal swelling.

My water broke at 36 wks and when I was being prepped for my c-section (my son was breeched) and the blood work came back the dr. said I had toxemia but I didn't feel anything and throughout my pregnancy my blood pressure had been fine. The dr was surprised how "normal" i seemed but I felt fine so I if you aren't feeling well the best thing is to call your dr because it is a pretty serious thing I ended up having to be put to sleep completely and they had to have extra blood available in case I had to have a transfusion that alone made me realize how serious it was. I'm not trying to scare but you should be aware and be careful, good luck and I hope you are ok

One indicator would be to have some reliable person take your blood pressure. Can you get your urine tested for protein? Best of all, call your OB's office and ask to speak to him or her or to the nurse practitioner.

Take action now. Pre-eclampsia is not good for you or your fetus.
